Renovations to the L. Nelson Bell Library lawn continue this summer. The concrete benches and area known to many alumni as "The Pit" have been cleared away forever to make room for a stone walkway.


Montreat College's Outdoor Education Department to launch a new major in Outdoor Ministry in Fall 2009. The degree will combine coursework in Outdoor Education, Interdisciplinary Studies, Bible and Religion and Christian Education. The degree program is intended for those interested in using outdoor programming in a ministry setting whether at a Christian Camp, Conference Center, a formal church or mission setting.
