Howerton Garden

Howerton Hall, located across the street from Gaither Hall on Gaither Circle, overlooks Lake Susan. It was built in 1948 and renovated in 1979 and 1999 and was named in honor of James R. Howerton, who raised $50,000 to purchase Montreat. The Dining Hall was renovated in 1998.

Howerton Hall, an air-conditioned men's residence hall housing 112 students, has private or adjoining baths for all rooms.

Howerton Dining Hall provides food Howerton Dining Hall service for students, faculty, staff, and guests. A small, private room is also available for group meetings. The dining hall offers a wide variety of foods, including a vegetarian selection, a salad bar, breakfast bar, and two hot bars for each meal.
