Position Description: Tenure-Track: Communication
Type of Position: Assistant Professor in Communication to begin August 2008.
Degree Requirements: Required: Ph.D. (or near completion) in Communication field.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching core courses (Communication and Culture, Public Speech and Rhetorical Analysis, Media Studies, Media Ethics and Law, and Internship) and specialized courses in web studies, graphics, and photojournalism. Cinema production is a desirable specialty.
Expectations: Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching, evidence of scholarship, and enthusiastic commitment to Montreat College’s mission: Christ-Centered, Student-Focused, Service-Driven. An ongoing research program that blends the Christian faith with Communication Studies is expected.
