Academic Departments  

Montreat College features a broad selection of academic departments. Our small classes and dedicated faculty work together to create a nurturing and vibrant setting for learning and personal growth.

Bible and ReligionOffers concentration in Ministerial Studies, Philosophy and Worldview Studies, Christian Education, Youth Ministry, Cross-Cultural Studies, and Biblical Scholarship. Also provides Interdisciplinary Studies.
Business and CISOffers B.S. degree in either Business Administration (with choice of concentration) or Computer Information Systems, and MBA and MS in Management and Leadership advanced degrees.
CommunicationCutting-edge marketing and communication theory. Implementation techniques and common practice. B.S. Degree in Communications.
Education & Phys. Ed.The Education and Physical Education Department offers a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Elementary Education as well as Class A North Carolina teaching licensure. The Department also offers a minor in Physical Education.
English & LanguagesThe English & Foreign Languages Department offers a Bachelor of Arts in English with concentrations in Communication, Creative Writing, and Literature. The department also offers minors in Literature, Spanish, and Modern Languages.
Fine Arts
Natural SciencesThe mission of the Department of Natural Sciences is to provide the knowledge and experience base required for students to serve in the diverse fields of science and mathematics.
Outdoor EducationThe B.S. in Outdoor Education combines elements of both adventure education and the environmental education into one unique program of study. It offers a strong emphasis in ecology, outdoor skills, and leadership training.
Social SciencesThe Social Sciences Department offers courses in American studies, geography, history, human development, human services, political science, psychology, and sociology.
InterdisciplinaryPart of the Bible and Religion Department, you can combine courses from across the traditional college to build your own program of study.
