About the Major
Montreat College offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in American Studies, History, and History-Social Studies Education. The degrees offer students broad exposure to an understanding of the human past and of those events and forces leading up to the present and contributing to the future. Undergirding these studies is an integration of faith and philosophy with the cognitive knowledge of historical facts.

Included in the major are a survey of world history and the history of the United States and a serious look at one or more non-Western cultures and their development.
