Montreat College offers a Bachelor of Arts in English with concentrations available in LiteratureCommunication, and Creative Writing

Minors in Literature and Communication & Theatre are also available.

Students majoring in English may look forward to careers in business, education, journalism, technical writing, public relations, and the ministry.

In addition, students interested in graduate school in the areas of creative writing, communication, journalism, law, literature, media production, and theatre—as well as those who plan to go to seminary—should consider a major in English.

The Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English expands the core of a liberal arts education by offering students:

  1. A broad exposure to significant literary texts, and 
  2. Enhancement of writing and other communication skills.

Undergirding these studies is the union of Christian faith and intellect as a foundation on which graduates may build meaningful lives of service.
