Communication Department at Montreat College

Communication Department

Global connectedness calls for good communicators. People who know what they think and why. The Department of Communication at Montreat College equips students with both the knowledge and skills needed to ask tough questions and engage our culture through many forms of media. In a world full of information, it is so important to think critically and speak wisely. One of our primary goals is to train students that will be able to impact the world for Christ by developing their critical thinking and communication skills.

The Road West

Students, Todd Yancey and Carla Porterfield, shot and edited a documentary film, The Road West,  exploring the Montreat College American Ecosystems Trip.     The goal of the documentary was to chronicle the positive personal transformations that occurred on this journey as a result of being in close community and surrounded by the beauty of our national parks.  Professor Jim Shores produced the film, which was funded in part by the Ledford Grant through the Appalachian College Association.
