Montreat, NC- Game #1 Recap: John Shannon (Waynesville, NC) would start game one of the twinbill in the Cavaliers first home game of the year. Shannon would continue to be a dominant starter as he would move to 3-0 on the year with a complete game two hit shutout while recording 4 strikeouts. The Cavaliers would put up plenty of run support as they would pound out 11 hits in this first game led by Brent Ashbaugh (Tara, Ontario) who would hit his first homerun of the season along with a single and a walk. Jesse Wise (Benson, NC) and Cameron Duckworth (Asheville, NC) would also be perfect on the day with two hits and a walk apiece. Wise would contribute 2 RBI’s as well. Justin Cockrell (Pearland, TX) would have a key three run homerun to put the game out of reach early.

Game #2 Racap:

Brian Greene (Shelby, NC) would come in relief of starter Jonathon Madera and pitch 2 2/3 innings of shutout baseball. He would record 4 strikeouts and only allow one hit. Greene would record the win as well. Chad Dawkins (Rockingham, NC) would have a perfect day at the plate with 3 hits, 3 stolen bases, 2 RBI’s and a walk. Jesse Wise (Benson, NC) would be 2-3 on the day with 5 RBI and a triple. Steven Hoyle (Cherryville, NC) added two hits as well with a homerun and 3 RBI’s.
