Montreat College swept a conference doubleheader from Covenant College on Saturday 24-5 and 8-0. In game one, John Shannon would pitch a complete game with seven strikeouts while surrendering eight hits. He would get plenty of offensive support as the Cavaliers would score in every inning. The long ball would be the theme as the Cavaliers would hit 3 three run homeruns and a Grand Slam. Centerfielder Chad Dawkins would be responsible for two of those as he would have six RBI on the day and score four runs. Junior C/DH Justin Cockrell would have a four hit game including one of the three run homeruns. Sophomore slugger Cam Duckworth would be a single short of the cycle as he would have four RBI on the day.

In Game two, Garrett Jones would throw another gem as he would also pitch a complete game and record a shutout as well as having seven strikeouts and only surrendering three hits. Senior C/DH Jesse Wise would have another big day at the plate as he would have three hits along with Adam Speas and Justin Cockrell sharing four hits. Sophomore Steven Hoyle would hit his second homerun of the day in this game. Montreat College now stands at 29-11 and 10-4 in conference.
