Cavs use balanced attack to defeat SWU at home opener, 91-77

Coach Robinson’s Cavaliers defeated a reluctant SWU team 91-77 in a complete team effort. “We played eight guys tonight and each of them contributed to this win,” said Robinson, “It was great to be back home and feed off the McAlister energy. We were able to maintain forty minutes of intensity, which we haven’t been able to do yet. It certainly helped to play in front our fans tonight.” Obviously, Aaron Collazo and MJ Njoku felt really comfortable at home as they shot the lights out against a Warrior team that had not lost a game prior to entering McAlister Gymnasium. Collazo led all scorers with 21 points, hitting 5 of 7 three-pointers. MJ Njoku earned 19 points and four rebounds, while shooting a stellar 9 of 11 from the floor.

Seth Moore and Kinard Barnett also hit the double digits with 13 and 14 points.  Montreat shot 53% for the night, while SWU was held to only 46% shooting and forced to turn the ball over 21 times.  This win gives Coach Robinson his 199th career victory, as he inches closer to the elusive 200-win mark.

The Cavaliers are now 1-2 on the season and take their game back on the road to Berea, KY.  They play Berea College this Friday and Asbury College on Saturday.
