Men's Basketball fall to VIC, 82-75

Sharp shooting Montreat College fell to VIC last night in an early season AAC matchup. The Cavs shot 50% from the 3-point line (9 of 18) but were once again outrebounded (42-22), which proved to be the deciding statistic for the night. "We played really well all night, except for a four minute period in overtime where we were held to only one point," said Coach Robinson, "We can't give up so many rebounds, that's really hurt us." Kinard Barnett and Thomas Nicholson led Montreat with 19 points each. Barnett also had six rebounds, while Nicholson grabbed five of his own.

The Cavaliers were held to 40% shooting, struggling in the second half with only 11 of 30 from the floor.  "We really need someone to step up and lead in those crucial moments of the game," added Coach Robinson, "Though I think we are playing solid team basketball right now."

Montreat will continue AAC action as they play host to Union College this Saturday, December 1st; game time is scheduled for 6:00pm.
