Soccer Players Earn AAC Honors

This year's AAC individual awards have been released and Montreat's Men's and Women's teams both garnered many honors as a result of outstanding regular season play. Follow the link to read a complete listing.

Several players for the Montreat College Men¹s soccer team have earned individual conference honors. Shaka Bangura (SO) has been named AAC Player of the Year. Shaka scored 11 goals and 2 assists during regular season play.
Troy Watson has been selected as the AAC Freshman Player of the Year with 9 goals and 5 assists during the regular season. Four players were named to the AAC All-Conference Team: Shaka Bangura, Troy Watson, Howard Fisher (SO), and Chad Britts (JR). Nyron Edwards (SO) and Stephen Jackson (JR) were both awarded All-Academic honors.
 
Christian Gandini (SO) and Jonathan Viana (JR) were named to the All-Conference 2nd Team. Adnan Bangura (FR) and Abdul Bangura (SO) were both selected for the All-Conference 3rd Team.
 
In Women¹s soccer, Amanda Solesbee (SR) was picked for the All-Conference Team and five players were named All-Academic: Bethany Carmichael (SO), Jenna Givens (SO), Katie Kovarik (SO), and Lydia Parker (SO).
 
Brittnye Scott (FR) was given the nod for the All-Conference 2nd Team and Hannah Davison (FR) received All-Conference 3rd Team honors.
