Patterson School too much for Cavalier JV Basketball

The Cavalier JV team hit the road last night at The Mulberry Recreation Center in Lenoir to play The Patterson School's 'B' team. The Cavaliers now fall to 1-3 for the season as they lost to Patterson 80-68. "I was pleased with their effort again tonight," said Coach Robinson, "The guys are really playing hard and coming together as a team. Unfortunately, the depth and athleticism of Patterson was a bit too much to overcome for our guys." Montreat held a slight advantage over Patterson for part of the game behind the strong play of Matthew Pride (So., Asheville, NC).

Pride led all Montreat scorers with 19 points; however, the Cavaliers managed to have three others in double figures: AJ Smith (13), Mikie Martin (11), and Korey Eller (10).

The Cavaliers will continue to mesh and grow as a team behind Robinson's leadership; they will search for their winning formula as they continue a five-game road trip tonight at Wilkes Community College in Wilksboro, NC.  The game is schedule to begin at 7:00pm.
