The Lady Cavs put up another great fight against another tough NCAA opponent before late game turnovers led them to a 75-48 loss. Montreat kept things rather interesting throughout the first half as they hovered near a single-digit deficit. The Lady Cavs went into the locker room trailing UNC-A, 37-23. “I thought we played them really well the first half… it’s tough for us to keep the big teams off the glass,” said Coach Jackson, “we had too many turnovers in the second half. All in all, it was a good effort from our women. These were two tough teams we have played, and I think they got better tonight than the Gardner-Webb game.”

Whitney Boone led all Montreat scorers with 15 points, while Chazaree Wright added 11 points and eight rebounds of her own.  Montreat will continue action this Friday at the UVA-Wise Lady Basketball Tournament.  The Cavaliers will be taking on Kentucky Christian University on Friday night (6:00pm) and Asbury College on Saturday (2:00pm).
