Milligan too much for Lady Cavs on the road

Montreat College suffered a tough loss to Milligan College last night in AAC action, 53-69. Milligan showed tough physical play all night and demonstrated why they are 8-1 in conference play, winning 10 of their last 14 games. "They played really physical and we didn't really handle the pressure all that well," said Coach Jackson, "there's not much more I can say, we've struggled on the road and they are one of the best teams in the conference." Montreat was down nine at the half, before losing by 16 points. The Lady Cavs were led by Chazaree Wright's 18 points. Whitney Boone and Janel Cox each contributed 12 points, while Kim Staley scored 10 of her own.

Montreat managed to only pull down five offensive rebounds, while shooting only 22-52 from the field.  The Lady Cavs could not find their range from the 3-point line as they shot a disappointing 8% (1-12).

Montreat will take on Virginia Intermont College this Saturday at McAlister Gymnasium.  The game is scheduled for 5:30pm.  The Lady Cavs are currently 10-10 and 3-6 in the AAC.  The Lady Cobras of Virginia Intermont will roll onto Montreat's campus hailing an identical 3-6 conference record (6-13 overall).
