Coach Jackson and his #7 seeded lady basketball team advanced to today's 1:45pm game against #2 Union College. Montreat eliminated #10 Bluefield College last night in the opening round of the AAC tournament with a 90-61 victory. Leading the way for Montreat was Whitney Boone (Bakersville, NC), with her 21 points and five rebounds. And, returning back to the line up after sitting out the final part of the season due to a leg injury, Chazaree Wright contributed royally with 19 points and nine rebounds. The Lady Cavs also earned some AAC honorary distinctions.

Chazaree Wright was welcomed back by being honored as First Team All-AAC.  Janel Cox and Whitney Boone were named to the All-Academic AAC Team for their tremendous representation in the classroom.  Kim Staley was named to the All-Freshman AAC Team and the All-Defensive Team. 

The Montreat Vs. Bluefield game will be broadcast live by Tom McMurtry and Shon Snipes; the game is scheduled for 1:45pm in Bristol, TN.  The winner of this game will go on to the quarterfinals which will be played on Friday at 4:00pm.
