For the fourth time this season, The Lady Cavs of Montreat scored 7 goals, in a game that Coach Woerner described as, “fun to watch and a game where all players contributed.” With just 11 minutes into the game, Brittnye Scott delivered the first blow to the Lady Rams of Bluefield College as she sent an intended cross pass that was deflected by a Bluefield defender into their own goal. It was the first of 2 goals that was credited to Scott, the second coming late in the second half. Montreat’s second goal came with three minutes remaining in the half by Shannon Olson. Olson’s speed and agility took her past two defenders to earn her unassisted goal. Other standout performers were Amanda Solesbee who has recently been known more for her generous assists, took charge of the offensive strikes with 3 goals of her own and her season’s first hat trick. Lucy White completed the assault on Bluefield with the seventh goal of the game.

"Though we dominated possession, we really couldn’t finish off our shots and score again until late in the first half,” added Coach Woerner.  "In the second half, the girls responded with a tremendous effort and finished some beautiful goals.”

Montreat is now 5-1 on the season and 1-1 in the AAC.  The Lady Cavs are building great momentum, and they are doing it at the right time of the season.  They continue their conference play this Saturday against Tennessee Wesleyan.  The game is scheduled for 2:00pm.
