Montreat Softball completes sweep of NCAA Division II Lees McRae

(Morganton, NC) --- In the second game of the double header with Lees McRae, the Lady Cavaliers completed the sweep of the series, winning the night cap, 4-2. Pitcher Rachel Stowe-(Fr. Belmont, NC) pitched a complete seven inning game, allowing 4 hits, 1 earned run, striking out 6, for her first colegiate win. Lees McRae's only runs came in the first with 1 run and in the sixth with another run. Montreat scored 1 run in the first, 2 runs in the second and 1 run in the
sixth.
Leading hitters for the Lady Cavalaiers; Mandi Pike-(So. Burlington, NC) was 2 for 3 with a double, scoring 1 run and driving in 1 RBI. Mandy Montgomery-(Jr. Bristol, TN) was 1 for 3, scoring 1 run and driving in 1 RBI. Brittany Burns-(Jr. Charlotte, NC) was 2 for 3 scoring 1 run. Caroline Taylor was 1 for 3, with a double, scoring 1 run.
Caroline Taylor had 5 RBI's for the series. The Lady Cavaliers improve to 3-3 on the season. They travel to Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC for a double header on Saturday, February 17. Game time for the first game is set for 1:00 pm.
