Work Study  

Please follow the instructions below to apply for a work study position

  1. Go to www.collegecentral.com/montreat
  2. Register as a student
  3. Upload your resume that you created with the template or your existing resume
  4. Click Search for Jobs Posted at My School.
  5. Choose Work Study as your JOB TYPE.
  6. Click on Begin Search
  7. To apply for the job, click on Submit to Posting at the bottom of the Job Detail page and your résumé will be sent to Financial Aid.

What happens after I submit my resume?

  • Your resume will come to the Financial Aid office electronically.
  • It will be reviewed and then sent to the staff/faculty (s) you have applied for a position (s) with.
  • It is possible that you will simply be placed in a position, but in some cases, you may be contacted to havean interview with a faculty/staff.

Why should I be interested in Work Study?

  • Earn money toward your education while working at Montreat.
  • Earn extra money for yourself!
  • Build your resume with the skills you learn from your work study position.
  • Don't have to drive to a place to work. Save Gas!!
  • If you are placed in a community service position, you will provide valuable service to the college and contribute to the vibrant community that makes Montreat thrive.
There are many more students eligible for work study than there are positions available. Work study is first come first serve.

You will be notified if you are eligible for work study. 
Students must be eligible according to the federal government to receive Federal College Work Study funds. Please fill out a work study application and submit it to the Financial Aid Office.  

Most positions pay $6.70 per hour and require about nine hours per week.

Students turn in timesheets monthly and are paid around the 15th of the following month.
 
Community Service Positions:
We have community service positions in Black Mountain, Ridgecrest and Montreat. 
These positions pay $9.70 per hour.
