The Lady Cavalier split a home doubleheader against Chowan University this weekend. Montreat fell in the first game 1-3, but came back with some clutch hitting in game two to win 3-2. "I was really proud of the girls in our second game," said Coach Duvall, "I felt they kept competing... Summerow was great when it mattered." It was Amber Summerow (Jr., Lenior, NC) that hit the game-winning RBI for Montreat, going 2-for-2 with a walk. In game one, it was Erin Cross (So., Morganton, NC) that had a great day at the plate, as she would go 3-for-3, including a walk. Shelby English (Fr., Marion, NC) also had a standout day in game one going 2-for-3.

Cross continued to demonstrate her offensive presence by going 1-for-2 in game two, including another walk and a home run. 

The Lady Cavs improve to 3-15 on the season.  The team now travels to Orlando, FL for their Walt Disney World Softball Tournament.
