Financial Aid for Transfer Students

Our scholarship application is included in our admissions application for the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS), so if you have applied, you have started the financial aid process. A separate Montreat College Financial Aid Application is required for those applying for the School of Professional and Adult Studies (SPAS). This must be filled out for each academic year.

Every student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to receive financial aid. This form is available in January of each year, and you can find it by visiting www.fafsa.ed.gov. Once you and your parents/spouse have completed your taxes (financial aid is first-come, first-serve, so we encourage you to file your taxes early in the year), you can fill out the FAFSA. Once you enter Montreat's school code (002948), your information will submit automatically to our financial aid office in three to five days.

The FAFSA is used by the Federal Government to determine your family's level of need, and together with your application, will be used to determine your financial aid. Montreat College Offers academic, athletic, music, and many other scholarships to our School of Arts and Sciences students. Our Early Deposit Advantage Program helps ensure that you get the most money possible.

Students who apply, are accepted, and pay their $100 deposit before April 1 will be a part of this program. These students will receive priority financial aid awarding, early class registration, and housing choice, so it pays to be early! Those in the School of Professional and Adult Studies also may qualify for Federal and State Grants.
