The Department of Business and Computer Information Systems of Montreat College, a Christian liberal arts college located near Asheville, North Carolina, is accepting applications for a tenure-track appointment in Accounting beginning July 1, 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate accounting courses in the School of Professional and Adult Studies (SPAS) and undergraduate courses in the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS). SPAS program courses are taught in the evenings, primarily at Montreat College’s Asheville and Charlotte campuses, and SAS courses are taught during the day at the Montreat campus.
An earned Ph.D./D.B.A. with a concentration in Accounting or an earned doctorate in a closely related field with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting is preferred. Terminal degreed candidates at the A.B.D. level may also be considered. Professional certification (i.e., CPA or CMA) and teaching experience at the college level is desirable. Accredited degrees are required.
