Employee Job Description 

Job Title: Receptionist for Admissions and Student Financial Services

The Position

The Receptionist for Admissions and Student Financial Services works closely with the School of Arts and Sciences Admissions/Recruitment Team and the Student Financial Services Office as the frontline staff person. This position handles incoming phone calls for both offices and meets/greets both prospective and current students. This role plays a major part in the coordination of prospective student visits to campus.

This position reports to the Director of Enrollment Marketing & Communication and the Director of Student Financial Services.

Major Duties

Specific responsibilities will include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Check the Admissions and Financial Aid e-mail inboxes; responds or directs to proper person. 
  • Take incoming calls and answer general Admissions and Student Financial Services questions or direct them to the proper person. This includes handling many calls that are not for enrollment services. 
  • Assist walk-in students, both prospective and current, who may be visiting or have general Admissions and Student Financial Services questions; directs to proper person or office when necessary. 
  • Plays a key role in the coordination of prospective student visits; coordinates visit schedule, lunch with faculty, lunch tickets, finding overnight host/hostess when necessary, and more. Works with student staff members (visit coordinator and assistant counselors) to assure that campus visits are well coordinated. 
  • Works with EMT Connect and PowerFaids technology tools in order to assist students seeking general answers to their questions. 
  • Serves as Cashier for the Student Financial Services Office. 
  • All other tasks assigned by the Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communication or the Director of Student Financial Services.
