Montreat College
Controller
Montreat College, located in the mountains of western North Carolina, seeks an experienced Controller to serve the approximately 1,200 students that make up both the traditional, term-based campus, as well as the non-traditional, non-term, extended campuses. Montreat College is a Christian liberal arts college accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate’s degree, the Bachelor’s degree, and the Master’s degree.
Responsibilities
The Controller shall maintain a timely, accurate and complete general ledger for the College and accepts fiduciary responsibility for the accounting records. This position would ensure proper implementation of and compliance with all applicable Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in pursuit of fulfilling the college’s mission: Christ-Centered, Student-Focused, Service-Driven: Equipping agents of transformation, renewal and reconciliation. He or she will report directly to the Vice President, Finance & Administration.
Requirements
Applicants must support the mission as a Christian liberal arts institution. Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting is required. Minimum of five years experience in fiscal operations in an educational institution. CPA designation preferred. Supervisory experience necessary. Great Plains and FRx proficiency along with significant experience creating, updating, and modifying computer spreadsheets (MS Office preferred).
