The Montreat College community mourns the loss of Senior Howard Fisher today, who passed away just after 7:00 this morning at the University Hospital Of The West Indies in Jamaica. A star athlete for the men's soccer team, a diligent student and worker on campus, and a beloved friend to many at Montreat, Howard has touched many lives during his time at Montreat. His recent diagnosis with aplastic anemia and extended hospital stay in his home country of Jamaica have rallied many in the Montreat community to prayer and an extensive effort to bring him to the States for treatment. His condition worsened very quickly yesterday and after a night with his family by his bedside, Howard went home to be with the Lord.
There will be a memorial service for Howard tomorrow morning, on Thursday, February 4th at 11:00 A.M. in Anderson Auditorium in Montreat.
