Montreat College Appoints New Board Members

Montreat College is pleased to announce the appointment of four new members to its Board of Trustees.

Mr. William (“Will”) F. Graham IV of Swannanoa, North Carolina, is Assistant Executive Director of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Graham’s participation on the Montreat College Board continues a long association of the Graham family with the college; his grandmother Ruth Bell Graham graduated from Montreat High School in 1936, and she served on the Board of Trustees from 1972 to 1981 and was then named Trustee Emerita. His father Franklin Graham and his aunt Gigi Graham Foreman also attended Montreat College. His mother Jane Austin C. Graham served on the Montreat College Board from 1989 to 2003 and from 2004 to 2007. Graham earned a bachelor’s degree at Liberty University and a master’s at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Graham is a member of Bay Leaf Baptist Church. He and his wife Kendra have three children.

Mr. Steven (“Steve”) L. Frost of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, is President of Tuftco Corporation. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Tennessee. He serves as elder and clerk of session at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church. Frost is also chairman of the board of Bethel Bible Village and is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the University of Tennessee—Chattanooga’s College of Business. He and his wife Lisa have two children and three grandchildren.

Dr. James (“Jim”) L. Morgan, Jr. of Laurinburg, North Carolina, is President and CEO of The Morgan Company. His father served on the Montreat College Board of Trustees from 1967 to 1981—eight of those years as Chairman of the Board—and was named Trustee Emeritus in 1995. His mother Elizabeth E. Morgan served on the Montreat College Board from 1983 to 1995 and from 1996 to 2006. Morgan earned a bachelor’s degree at Wake Forest University and a D.Min. at Columbia Theological Seminary. He is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). He and his wife Annette have two daughters and a son.

Rev. James (“Jim”) P. Wood of Sevierville, Tennessee, is President of Abiding in Christ Ministries, an international outreach that engages in preaching, teaching, evangelism, and workshop-style seminars. He is also Founder and Executive Director of Wears Valley Ranch, a Christian residential childcare facility and school for boys and girls whose families are in crisis. Wood grew up in Montreat. He earned an associate’s degree at Montreat College, a bachelor’s at Gordon College, and a master’s at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is a teaching elder at St. Andrew’s Fellowship. He and his wife Susan have seven children.

Montreat College is a Christ-centered liberal arts institution with its main campus for four-year traditional students in Montreat. The accelerated School of Professional and Adult Studies program has campuses in Asheville, Charlotte, and Black Mountain, with courses being taught in Cherokee, Murphy and other NC locations.
