How to Apply for Financial Aid:

1. Apply for admission
Financial aid cannot be awarded until you have been accepted.
2. Complete the free application for Federal Aid (FAFSA)
If you want to receive loans, work study, federal grants, or any need-based aid, you must complete the FAFSA. Montreat College can electronically transmit the FAFSA directly to the Department of Education.
3. Complete the Montreat College Financial Aid Application
If you would like to be considered for Montreat College scholarships and grants or state aid, you will need to complete this application.
4. Submit a signed copy of your federal taxes
If your file is chosen for verification, you will be asked to submit a signed copy of your federal taxes.

5. Return additional requested information.

6. Make a copy of all paperwork before mailing to the below address.

Please return all paperwork to:

Financial Aid Office
Montreat College
 P.O. Box 1267
Montreat, NC 28757

If Montreat College processes your FAFSA, it should take approximately 10 working days. After your Student Aid Report (SAR) is returned to our office, we should have a package out to you in five business days.

If you have completed all paperwork and have not heard from us in three weeks, please call our office. After receiving an award letter, you will need to return a signed copy within 14 days to secure your aid. You will also need to pay your advance deposit to secure your place in the incoming class.
