Monica Hickman Wilder - 2007 Inductee

Monica Hickman Wilder attended Montreat from 1999-2002 and competed in both softball and volleyball. She also graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. During her time at Montreat, Monica became the most decorated female student-athlete in school history. Her list of accomplishments includes the following: She was a four time All-AAC performer as well as a four time NAIA All Region recipient. She was named both AAC Player of the Year and NAIA Region XII Player of the Year for both the 2001 and 2002 seasons. She was also named as an All American Honorable Mention. Monica not only excelled on the playing field but was very successful in the classroom as well. This is represented by her recognition as a thee time member of the Academic All-Conference team as well and being selected as an Academic All-American.

Monica has left a lasting legacy on the Montreat College record books. She is the All-Time leader in wins with 92. She is the all time leader in strikeouts with 650 for her career. And she has also recorded the lowest ERA for a career at 1.31 and the lowest ERA for a season at .67.
 
Monica also found time to play volleyball for four seasons at Montreat in which she was named All-Conference Honorable Mention as well as a scholar-athlete for her work in the classroom.
 
Monica married her husband Dave, and former baseball player at Montreat, shortly after her graduation. They tied the knot on June 22nd, 2002 and currently live in Charlotte, NC. Monica presently works as a kindergarten teacher at Highland Renaissance Academy and Dave is the Executive Director of Ministry for an organization called Charlotte One.
Monica and Dave have recently had thier first child, Ryan.
