Cavaliers split a four game series with Southern Virginia
The Cavaliers split a four game set with the Knights of Southern Virginia. In the two victories, the Cavaliers would total 26 runs and in the two losses only three. Great pitching would keep Montreat in all four games with Jonathon Madera and Matt Braswell picking up the victories and Seth Blevins and Aaron Hughes pitching very effectively in the losses. Leading the Cavaliers at the plate would be Jesse Wise as he would total eight hits in the four game set. Chad Dawkins and Justin Cockrell would each hit two homeruns apiece for the Cavaliers.
Local products Cam Duckworth and Dustin Bartlett would also be very productive at the plate with four hits and Duckworth with three doubles and a homerun respectively. Montreat College now moves its record to 34-15 and will return to action with a double header against Bluefield College starting at 1:00 on Saturday.
