Scott leads Lady Cavs over Cumberland University, 5-1
Montreat sent Cumberland University home behind Brittnye Scott's second hat trick of the season. With this win the Lady Cavaliers finish the regular season with an 11-4-1 record and 5-1 in the AAC. Montreat secured the fourth place seed in the first round of the AAC tournament. "This was a great win," said Coach Woerner, "Olson and Scott played very well today." Coach Woerner blamed CU's first goal to an early goalie miscue; however, it didn't take long for Shannon Olson to tie the game at one a piece as she scored within the next five minutes.
Brittnye Scott went on to score the first of her three goals in the 12th minute of the first half, while Shannon Olson added her second game with 10 minutes remain in the half. Scott's two goals in the second half gave her a total of 18 goals for the season.
The Lady Cavs will continue action this Tuesday as they host Union College in the quarterfinal game of the AAC tournament.
