Cavalier Volleyball Has A Strong Showing In Scrimmage

Montreat Cavalier Volleyball came out strong this evening in their opening scrimmage against Catawba Valley Community College. It was definitely a great chance to play against another opponent and gain on-court experience before going into tomorrow’s season opener against NAIA foe Southern Wesleyan University. Montreat had very good play out of their newcomers tonight and will look to them to improve even more as the season goes on to continue their winning success. The Lady Cav’s dominated tonight winning all five games.

New Volleyball Head Coach Christy Mooberry had good things to say, "We saw some really positive things today on the court and some areas of needed improvement.  With mostly underclassmen on the court, sometimes there can be a tendency to play "not to lose" instead of playing to win. The girls did a good job of playing to win.  There are a good amount of areas that we will continue to seek improvement on, such as transitioning all the way off the net, communication, running our plays and timing for those attacks.  This season we will seek to learn and improve with every game and honor the Lord with every opportunity we have."
