Participants

CLIMBE participants are rising 8th to 12th grade student who have an interest in the natural sciences. They enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and camping and seek fun and exciting learning activities. Students do not need any previous experience to participate.

What to expect:
Students can expect to learn about various Environmental Science topics and enjoy exciting and interactive hands-on activities, from catching salamanders and stream bugs for identification to visiting the highest peak in the eastern United States. Students will cook food on a camp stove and sleep on the ground under a tarp. Because these expeditions take place in the outdoors, students may get cold, wet, and dirty during sampling activities.
