Through a weekend of engaging presentations, discussions, and fellowship, Inklings attendees will focus their attention on science fiction. The weekend kicks off with a viewing of Haunted Honeymoon, a film adaptation of Dorothy L. Sayers’ novel Busman’s Honeymoon. The film stars Robert Montgomery and was produced at the beginning of World War II.
Dr. Hal Poe, Joshua Hays, Jennifer Gruenke, and Dr. Don King will present on a variety of science fiction topics; presentation titles include “The Fellowship of the Force: Tolkien’s Legacy and the Star Wars Saga” and “Science Only Sees by Killing: C. S. Lewis’s Fear of Modern Science.” The weekend also includes dining together in the Gaither Fellowship Hall on Saturday evening.
The Inklings Fellowship began as a close-knit group of friends with a common interest in author C.S. Lewis and the role of the Christian faith within mainstream American higher education. Beginning in 2001, the Inklings Fellowship now offers resources and programs for Christians in higher education.
