OTHER LITERARY INTERESTS:
Other than the classes I teach, my chief literary interest lies in the area of C. S. Lewis studies. I have taught numerous classes on Lewis, both in formal academic settings and in more casual Elderhostel, church retreat, and Sunday school settings. I will be glad to share notes and ideas. During the summers of 2004 and 2009 I taught courses on Lewis at his home, the Kilns, located just outside Oxford. For more information, click C. S. My book on Lewis' poetry is C. S. Lewis, Poet: The Legacy of His Poetic Impulse (Kent State University Press, 2001). My book on Ruth Pitter, the poet who influenced Lewis quite a bit, is Hunting the Unicorn: A Critical Biography of Ruth Pitter (Kent State UP, 2008).
