Come take a splash in the river this summer, as you spend a week canoeing down the North Toe River and camping along its banks. Over the course of your trip, you’ll learn how to navigate a canoe through fun whitewater rapids, and discover how the rapids and other river features can help you understand the river’s history. As you get to know the river environment, you will spend some time collecting your own data to learn about and assess the river’s health; in addition to answering your own questions, your data will be shared with the USFWS to aid in their river monitoring efforts – very cool! You will also camp by the river each day and cool down with a nice swim – wading to collect stream macroinvertebrates and snorkeling to observe the river from a fish’s perspective. We invite you to join us in this whitewater canoeing adventure where you will have fun, make new friends, and experience science in a new and exciting way!
