Dr. Constance Nihart joined the Montreat College faculty in 2004. For her, education is more than academics. She says, "It is who we become. One learns through living and experiencing life. If people are called to teach, then they become one of the most powerful influences in the world."
When she describes her teaching style, she says, "In my classroom, learning is in real time. My students and I get out in the classrooms and schools and walk in the trenches. We discuss the way education should be, and then see how it really is. Learning in my classroom is eye-opening and extremely fun."
Dr. Nihart's is passionate about many things. Outside of the classroom, she really enjoys going to church, running, hiking, biking, singing, BIG hugs, and loving her family. Her family is very close to her heart, wherever she is. She says, "My husband is the best in the world. Not only is he gorgeous, but he loves God, me, and our children. I have three of the most loving, energetic, and beautiful children. I also have two older brothers, and two best friends whom I claim as my sisters."
Dr. Nihart holds a B.A. and M.A. in Elementary Education. Her doctorate is in Education with a focus on Educational Leadership. |
