Degree Requirements for Human Services

 
1. Courses required for general education core, including Education 361, Math 214, and Sociology 204 (50 hours).

2. Bachelor of Arts: Successful completion of the intermediate level of French, Greek, Spanish, or other approved language (12 hours or equivalent) OR
Bachelor of Science: 12 semester hours of the following courses:
Astronomy, Biology, Business 209, 303, 307, 309 (6 hours maximum), Chemistry, Computer Science 102, 204, Environmental Studies, Mathematics (142 or above), Physics.
NOTE: These courses may not be applied to the general education core, the major, or the minor requirements.

3. Required courses in the major (47 hours):
Christian Education 201 (3)
General Education 210 (1)
Human Development 300 (3), 301 (3), 305 (3), 306 (3), 401 (3)
Human Services 101 (2), 241 (1),* 441 (3)
*241 must be taken twice
Psychology 202 (3), 315 (3), 412 (3), 414 (3)
Sociology 205 (3), 311 (3), 415 (3)

4. General electives to bring total to 126 semester hours. Refer to "Requirements for Bachelor Degrees" in the Catalog for more information.

5. All human services majors are required to take the Major Field Test (MFT) in their discipline prior to graduation.
 

Minor in Human Services

 
The minor in Human Services requires the following 18 hours:
 
Human Development 300 or 301 (3), 305 or 306 (3);
Human Services 101 (2), 241 (1);
Psychology 315, 412 or 414 (3);
Sociology 204 or 205 (3).
